REMEMBER:

You don’t give yourself enough credit,
you are stronger than you believe.
You were strong enough to survive through
  your disordered thoughts and actions.
You are strong enough to survive through
  the recovery from them.
Don’t you ever give up, not ever.

REMEMBER:

Happiness in recovery does not happen over night. You don’t just wake up one morning and decide that you are okay with what is happening. Things don’t work that way.

It is a process.
It takes work,
and it takes time.
But it is possible,
you will get there.
I promise.

A Generation of Dreamers and Visionaries

We are the dreamers of dreams and seers of visions; equipped with things that make our bones rattle, our hearts beat a little faster, our breath catch a little quicker. I was once told:

“Find the thing that lights you up inside and then do it for the rest of your life, because when you lay your head down at night you will know that it mattered that you woke up that morning.”  Kelly Otte, FSU College of Social Work

For me, that light is life itself. Every single person deserves a second chance, another shot at life. However, some people do not have the means to grab ahold of that opportunity. I have the belief that money should never be a deciding factor in someone’s ability to wake up one morning and decide to give their life a chance. With this belief I hold a vision of opening a non-profit recovery center.

I am in the process of walking on the path towards this destination. I am in college to a earn a PhD in Psychology and Mental Health. With that I intend to become a Recovery Therapist. After gaining experience in the field I will then return to college for Business Administration. Eventually, I will open my center where I will work pro-bono and invite in those who are fighting to live. Life is not easy, but it is something worth fighting for. Together, with our stories and our weapons, we will rise, we will fight, and we will win

We do recover, together,
one day at a time.

My dream is big, powerful, and life changing.
I know that it is possible and I know that I am capable,
one day at a time.

“RECOVERY, some people make it look so damn simple. Well, it’s not - It’s a fight, every single day. Remember that.”

    - and a third
    - a forth
    - a fifth
    - a sixth

no matter who you are,
where you’ve been,
or what you’ve done,

REMEMBER:

You are not a lost cause!
You will not feel this way forever.
You are not broken, only hurt.
This will heal, I promise.

All hope is not lost.
I repeat, all hope is not lost!

Don’t you dare give up on yourself.
You matter more than that.
I promise.

Settle down, it’ll all be clear .
Don’t pay no mind to the demons,
they fill you with fear.
The trouble, it might drag you down,
but i
f you get lost, you can always be found.
Just know you’re not alone.
